Our Yoga Teachers

Season by season we choose different specialist yoga teachers from around the world to fit in with our specially laid back and spiritual environment. During 2008 we have guest teacher vacancies, however most of the teaching is with Jax Lysycia.

Jax Lysycia is the author of Yoga & Pilates for Healthy Living, The Pilates Workpack, 5 Minute Pilates and the best selling, 10 Minute Wake Up Workout. She has been practicing & teaching for 14 years & is a freelance health and fitness journalist & runs her own studio space in London & Essex. She is Director of Dynamic Yoga Pilates UK providing accreditated Pilates & Yoga Teacher Training in Europe .

Jax has studied with some of the worlds best Yoga teachers and her style is heavily inspired by Godfrey Devereux's Dynamic Yoga method. The Yoga is Dynamic Ashtanga in style which suits beginners as well as intermediates.

The basic postures seem more complicated than the more advanced ones but it is from this foundation that the deep intrinsic lines of awareness can shine through from the internal to the external dynamic. Her teaching is highly intuitive using the organic spontaneous impermanent nature of life.

Anoushkas Yoga

Classes in Earlsfield Monday to Thursdays at 7pm and 8.30pm and on Saturday mornings. Also available during the day for one on ones, small groups or teaching within workplaces, gyms or health clubs.

Anoushka has a strong Sivananda foundation but since qualifying three years ago she has undergone intensive training to explore her own beliefs of yoga as a human movement system. She has been taught by Shiva Rea, Suzy Daw and Jane Farrimond, all of whom have provided different takes on possible yoga approaches. She has then synthesised this knowledge which is currently imbedded with other schools of human movement such as Dahn Yoga to create her own unique and eclectic approach.

Within her eclectic mix, she has developed a unique approach to the postures by working closely with personal trainer Tom Marien of One Personal Training, Steve Clifford of Pulsing Massage and through reading about the different approaches to static vs. dynamic stretching. This physiological and anatomical knowledge has enabled her to create an approach based on ‘isolated ballistic and dynamic movements' which through regular use transforms the body's flexibility beyond any human movement solution she has ever worked with.
