The Yoga & Vegetarian Menu

 

Free from speculation, wishful thinking and fantasy, our Yoga retreats cut straight to the core of being human. In doing so, the body is awakened, sensitized and integrated so that the breath is released, the mind quietened and clarified, and the full power of the human spirit is released.

Most yoga is practiced in the mornings from 8.30 – 11.30am and afternoon practices are 4-7pm with optional karma beach cleaning. These are subject to change depending upon season and climate.

We have two yoga terrazas. One overlooking the sea and one just off the beach walk. They are covered, yet can be opened to view the beautiful surroundings.

Yoga is the most comprehensive and potent system of well being ever developed.

Formentera is the new Yoga hotspot. The Scorpio Island has loads of energy because it has so many lei lines running beneath it. This is why people party on nearby Ibiza because the energy is great for hedonism and this dynamic works well for Yoga also.

The key to understanding yoga is recognizing the inherent unity (yoga) of being human. The key to its practice is utilizing the body to release the breath, so that the quietening of the mind clarifies into the power of spirit that then revitalizes both mind and body.

This is not, and can not be, an intellectual or philosophical journey. It is one that begins and ends in the body on the basis of integrated action. The unity of yoga is the unity of body, mind, and spirit. A unity that is accessed through the integration of movement, action and stillness. The key is the breath and its relationship to structural and functional integrity.

All of these yoga benefits combine to give a radiance, a glow of vitality that is more attractive, more valuable than anything the fashion or the beauty/cosmetics companies can offer.

On a retreat, away from the normal strains of your energy, the activity of the internal organs of liver, spleen and kidneys is enhanced and it is these internal and external effects on overall body posture that make us look and feel younger upon our return home.

Our retreat experience has changed people's lives forever

The Yoga can be a deeply internalizing experience on a retreat and it is important you respect your own needs and requirements as well as others on the retreat. This will mean dropping all expectations and not taking any reactions from teacher or other students personally.

You are not on the retreat for any one else but yourself, so if you do not wish to mix, please do not feel any obligation to as others will also not expect you to socialize, if this is your preference. However, most students mix easily. The food is served buffet style so you may eat and sit wherever you wish – with others or alone.

Detox Vegetarian Cuisine

Fruit is available in the am before practice. We do not advise practicing on a full stomach. The food has been prepared to pull toxins out of your system. You will be soaking up more toxins than normal and this could produce initial feelings of ill health. Headaches, stomach issues and cramps are all common side effects.

Rest, sleep when you need to and drink and eat plenty in-between your meals and these symptoms will soon pass.

Formentera is an island of uncluttered simplicity, which is so elusive to its big sister Ibiza.

Our detox menu has been specially designed to pull toxins out of your system. This is complemented by the yoga practice. Our chef is fully trained in vegetarian cuisine and your meals for the retreat are:

  • Wheat free
  • Dairy Free
  • Sugar Free
  • Yeast Free
  • Salt Free

We occasionally can offer raw food cleanses and other special diets if pre-arranged beforehand with us.

Lunch is served around 1pm

Evening meal around 7 – 7.30pm

Herbal teas, water and fruit are supplied upon arrival, for breakfast and after lunch for the beach.

Please follow the pre Detox menu plan suggested to you 7 days before arriving if you do not wish to suffer with headaches or nausea during the retreat. This is available on the secret members page.

Departure Day No yoga on departure day. Breakfast 9am. Checkout 11am.

Day 2 Breakfast. Yoga practice 8.30am, lunch 1pm, evening meal 7pm
Day 3 Breakfast. Yoga practice 8.30am, lunch 1pm, evening meal 7pm
Day 4 Breakfast. Yoga practice 8.30am, lunch 1pm, evening meal 7pm
Day 5 Breakfast. Karma Yoga 9.30am/Day rest or sightseeing, lunch can be prepared to take with you
Day 6 Breakfast. Yoga practice can be 8.30am or 4pm - as a group we decide, lunch 1pm, evening meal 7.30pm
Day 7 Breakfast. Yoga practice 8.30am, lunch 1pm, evening meal 7pm
Departure Day No yoga on departure day. Breakfast 9am. Checkout 11am.
